Identifying Children with Disabilities:
Oregon City School District is seeking assistance in locating children with disabilities (birth through age 21) who have not graduated from high school and currently are not attending nor receiving other special services from public schools.
Oregon and federal law mandate educational services for children with disabilities. Oregon City School District provides educational programs and services for eligible children from kindergarten through high school. Services provided are appropriate to each child's disability.
Parents, guardians, or anyone who knows of a child (ages 5 through 21) with a disability currently not receiving educational services are asked to notify the special education contact person in the child's home school or contact the District's Student Services Department at (503) 785-8400.
Annual Notice: English, Spanish, Russian
Records Requests:
Oregon Senate Bill 758 clarifies the timeliness in which special education records must be shared with families upon request. Records will be provided without undue delay and within no more than 10 calendar days. To ensure prompt delivery, please submit requests in writing directly to the Student Services Records Secretary, Melinda Langdon-Hamilton.
State Report Card:
Each year, the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) prepares a report card for every school and district in the state. These report cards include data on student testing performance, attendance and graduation rates, staffing, and other statistical information; they also provide both state and federal ratings of the schools and districts based on formulas that take various subsets of the data into account. Per state law, school districts must ensure that all parents have access to these report cards.
Included here are school report cards in both English and Spanish. You can also find these reports on ODE's website.
Restraint & Seclusion Reporting
Public entities with jurisdiction over public programs and receiving funds under Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and/or the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) will make available to its constituents an annual report detailing the use of physical restraint and seclusion for the previous school year.
